Presentations, Lectures and Seminars

This section provides presentations for student and professional designers and engineers to inform them of the properties and applications of the copper-zinc alloys commonly known as brass.

Lecture

Cost-effectiveness and Recyclability of Brass
This lecture serves as an introduction to the versatility of brass. The presentation covers the history of brass, the numerous manufacturing processes available for brass and the properties of brass. Case studies illustrate the cost-effectiveness of brass and examples of brass components are available for the students to examine.  The lecture aims to increase awareness of the benefits of specifying brass.

Seminar

Design in Brass Seminar
This free seminar sets out to provide the latest information on the properties, applications, EN specifications and methods of processing the many copper-zinc alloys called 'brass'.  The information imparted by the experienced industrial speakers is not readily available from other sources and is not covered in detail in university undergraduate or postgraduate design, engineering and manufacturing courses.  Information on recyclability, cost-effectiveness and antibacterial properties is provided in addition to technical information.
